Diverse Mental Greatness
As a clinical social worker I have been able to help those that are struggling with depression, anxiety, feelings of hopelessness, which have negatively impacted their self-worth. Through therapy they have been able to overcome obstacles as well as identify and utilize skills that they had all along. I empower my clients to advocate for themselves and believe in their inner strength. I am thankful for the many individuals that I have served throughout my 10 plus year career as a therapist. I have been blessed to work with an incredibly diverse population of all ages, as well as provide clinical supervision to other therapists with the same passion as mine.
A little something about me: I was born in Puerto Rico, but I have been living in the United States since 1989. I graduated with my Bachelors of Arts in Psychology from D’Youville College in Buffalo NY, then with my Master in Social Work at the University at Buffalo. I started my career as a Bi-Lingual Dual Disorder therapist at an outpatient agency in Buffalo NY. Moving to Florida in 2014, I worked with individuals who have been diagnosed with alcohol and/or substance misuse who have been linked with the court system, as well as working with children, adolescents, and adults who have experienced complex trauma, as well as a wide range of experience working with different cultures, ethnicities and backgrounds. I am kink-friendly/competent and assist in helping clients navigate ethical non-monogamous relationships. I have also has the pleasure of working as a program manager providing guidance and clinical direction to other therapists, as well as providing therapeutic services to individuals within the LGBTQAI+ community and those who have been impacted by an HIV diagnosis. Throughout my career I have been able to gain knowledge on different types of diagnoses and resources that promote strength and empowerment.
